Throughcare

Course Aim: 
To ensure that staff groups working with children and young people have knowledge of the principles and purposes which underpin throughcare and aftercare practice
Course Objectives: 
Understand the relevant aspects of the Children (Scotland) Act 1995 in relation to throughcare and aftercare
Demonstrate an understanding of the following areas: care plans, education, family, lifestyle and health, housing, budgeting and employment in relation to young people preparation for independence
Acknowledge the difference between throughcare and aftercare
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge: 
This course may provide evidence for unit HSC 34
Target Group: 
This course will be useful for all staff from basic grade practitioners through to Unit Managers. The course could be adapted for multi-disciplinary groups e.g. domestic, teaching and field work staff
