Health Issues and Health Promotion for Young People in Care

Course Aim: 
To increase awareness of the health issues affecting children and young people in group living environments
Course Objectives: 
Have shared knowledge of and examined evidence about the health of young people in care
Have increased their understanding 'health promotion' in a residential child care context
Have received an introduction to a number of health issues affecting young people
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge: 
This course may provide evidence for units HSC 32 and 34
Higher National Certificate: 
This course provides an introduction to concepts explored in the unit Psychology for Social Care Practice.
Target Group: 
This course will be useful for all grades of practitioners working in or managing residential child care
