Family Therapy: An Introduction

Course Aim: 
To introduce workers to key concepts and practical techniques from different models of family therapy
Course Objectives: 
Understand the relevance of concepts from different models of family therapy for residential care
Be able to utilise a variety of practical techniques within staff training sessions and in work with children
Use their knowledge to help understand family dynamics in order to work effectively in partnership with parents
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge: 
The course may provide evidence for the underpinning knowledge for HSC 31
Higher National Certificate: 
This course provides an introduction to concepts explored in the unit Social Care Theory for Practice.

The course will be useful for basic grade practitioners and Unit Managers
