Children's Rights: An Introduction

Course Aim:
To enable participants to understand the context and implementation of children's rights
Course Objectives:
Appreciate the historical development of children's rights
Place children's rights into a context of personal values, rights and power
Have a basic awareness of the UNCRC
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge:
This course will provide evidence for all of the mandatory units of the SVQ
Higher National Certificate:
This course provides an introduction to concepts explored in the unit Social Care Theory for Practice.
Target Group:
This course will be useful for all residential child care staff, from basic grade practitioners to Unit Managers
