Course Aim: 
To explore stages of development from early childhood to adolescence
Course Objectives: 
Understand how life events impact on the resolution of life stages and on young people's development and behaviour
Be aware of the impact of early attachment patterns on young people's development and behaviour
Have knowledge of the range of responses to loss and change at different stages of development
Understand the impact of abuse and deprivation on children and young people
Understand the impact of family structure and functioning on children and young people
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge: 
This course may provide evidence for all mandatory units of the SVQ
Higher National Certificate: 
This course provides an introduction to concepts explored in the unit Psychology for Social Care Practice.
