Challenging Behaviour in Children and Young People with Learning Difficulties

Course Aim:
To ensure that participants understand challenging behaviour and explore some methods of working with this aspect of practice
Course Objectives:
Define what challenging behaviour means for the worker and the young person
Outline the impact of challenging behaviour on the young person, the worker and the workplace
Explore models and methods of dealing with challenging behaviour
Develop strategies to cope with challenging behaviour
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge:
The course may provide evidence for unit HSC 31
Higher National Certificate:
This course provides an introduction to concepts explored in the option unit Understanding and Supporting Behaviour.
Target Group:
This course will be useful to basic grade practitioners working in any of the fields of learning disability
