Evaluation of the Core Skills Appraisal Project and Evaluation of the Core Skills Course

The Core Skills Appraisal Project (CSAP) is funded by the Scottish Executive. It was formed to offer all residential child care staff who do not have the necessary qualifications to undertake HNC the opportunity to have their written communication skills appraised. The CSAP helps to identify any specific learning support areas they need to work on (if any) in order to reach HNC levels. In response to the high numbers of staff identified as needing learner support, the CSAP team produced a 5-day Written Communication Core Skills Course. This aims to offer learner support (identified by the Core Skills Appraisal) to staff in order to prepare them for HNC.
