Bereavement, Grief and Loss
Course Aim:
To ensure that residential child care staff have an understanding of bereavement, types of loss and the grief process and how to support children and young people through change and loss
Course Objectives:
The grief process and understanding of loss and change
Behaviour patterns associated with grief and loss
Some ways in which children and young people can be helped to come to terms with change and sustained through grief and loss
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge:
The course may provide evidence for the underpinning knowledge for HSC 34.
Target Group:
Any staff working in residential child care, particularly those with a key worker role
