Historic Abuse in Residential Care: Meeting the Needs and Rights of Survivors

The First Minister recently offered 'a sincere and full apology on behalf of the people of Scotland' to those who suffered abuse in residential care homes in the past. This exploratory research focuses on organisational responses to allegations of historic abuse. Interviews will be carried out with survivors and agency personnel to identify best practice. Comparative research will be undertaken to identify responses to historical abuse in other countries.
