Course Aim: 
To ensure that participants understand the concept of attachment and its relevance to children and young people in care
Course Objectives: 
Understand the concepts of attachment and attachment disorder
Appreciate the range of ways that children and young people react to loss and change
Outline behaviour associated with attachment disorder
Develop strategies to help children and young people cope with attachment difficulties
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge: 
The course may contribute to the underpinning knowledge for unit HSC 34
Higher National Certificate: 
This course provides an introduction to concepts explored in the unit Psychology for Social Care Practice.
Target Group: 
This course will be useful for any staff member who works directly with children and young people, but is particularly relevant to basic grade practitioners
