Course Aim:
To introduce participants to the practice of risk assessment in a residential child care home
Course Objectives:
Define core concepts in risk assessment.
Identify hazards and assess impact and likelihood.
Make judgements on the severity of risks.
Identify appropriate ways of dealing with risk.
Relate the learning in the course to practice.
SVQ Underpinning Knowledge:
This course may provide evidence for unit HSC 34
Target Group:
Staff members working in residential child care. The course can be adapted for other different groups of workers.
