Qualifications for Registration and Qualifications Audit - latest news

  1. Qualifications for Registration

The date for compulsory registration with the SSSC has passed. The next phase in the process will be that those workers who do not hold the appropriate qualifications for registration will receive registration with a condition that they gain the qualifications within a time limit, usually three years.

There could be staff in your team who will fall into this group and I am writing to offer them support through the Core Skills Appraisal Project to work towards meeting the registration requirements. Our experience is that a number of staff who need qualifications will also need some levels of learner support and preparation for the college course interview. Our resources at SIRCC are limited and the process for us to assess and offer that support can often take several months so, as you can appreciate, the earlier the application to the Core Skills Appraisal Project, the more certain it will be that staff can aim to be prepared for the college interview in good time to support their registration requirements.

If you have colleagues who need the HNC, SVQ3, SVQ4 or a management award, please ask them to contact Ilyas Ahmed on 0141 272 3762 iahmed@langside.ac.uk.
